BAFTA/LA: Tea Parties

The Tea Party

The BAFTA/LA Tea Party has a long tradition of recognizing the very best filmmaking talent by honoring the British and American Academy nominees.

Now a staple fixture in the Awards season calendar, this hugely popular event allows Members and guests to relax and enjoy an old-fashioned British Tea Party just prior to the nominations (for Awards shows) being announced.

The Tea Party is a uniquely elegant affair, and has therefore become hugely popular with Nominees seeking a respite from the hectic and demanding Awards season.

The 16th Annual BAFTA/LA Nominees' Tea Party took place on January 16, 2010 at The Beverly Hills Hotel. You can view pictures from the event here.

Since 2003, BAFTA/LA has also held The TV Tea, honoring excellence in Television. The TV Tea is held on the Saturday afternoon prior to The Primetime Emmy Awards in the garden of a lovely hotel. The event has become a must-attend event during Emmys weekend and provides a relaxed social atmosphere for our guests, who include television executives and celebrities, as well as Emmy Nominees and talent from the UK and the Commonwealth nations. BBC America and British Airways were the Presenting Sponsors for the 7th Annual TV Tea, held on September 19th 2009.
