   Helen Keller Park Holiday Party

BAFTA/LA is privileged to celebrate the Holiday Season and New Year with a party for the families in the Helen Keller Park community, and by donations to local children's charities.
 
BAFTA/LA Members and friends are invited to attend the Helen Keller Park party on Saturday, December 15th from 1pm to 5pm. Santa will be there!
 
Members are invited to bring an unwrapped toy to the party. If you cannot attend the party but would still like to donate a toy, please bring your gift to the BAFTA/LA office at 8533 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood.

   Television Committee Evening - Pub Quiz

The BAFTA/LA Television Committee will be hosting a get-together for the Members of BAFTA/LA who primarily work in Television.
 
The Television side of BAFTA/LA has been much more active this year, but the Committee would love to hear what the Membership think could be done to increase the TV side of the Academy even more.
 
We'll have a holiday drink, discuss what we can do regarding television in BAFTA/LA, and for a bit of fun there will be a TV pub quiz!

BAFTA/LA Members will have a final chance to meet the candidates for the 2008 Board of Directors election at this special Clubhouse Evening.

   Golf Tournament


 
We are pleased to announce details of the Third Annual VOLVO BAFTA/LA & Shriners Hospitals for Children Charity Golf Classic, Presented by American Airlines.

The tournament will take place on November 26, 2007 at Valencia Country Club in Valencia. In recent years, Valencia Country Club has hosted such tournaments as the PGA TOUR's Nissan Open and the PGA TOUR's SBC Senior Classic five years in a row, a testament to the caliber of the course.

   The Ongoing and Upcoming Guild Negotiations: Some Perspectives


With the trades and other media outlets increasingly using the word "strike" as we approach October, BAFTA/LA hosts a special discussion with Brian Walton on the ongoing WGA negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television, and the SAG and DGA negotiations scheduled for next year.

   Emmy Nominees Tea Party

In what has become a time-honored tradition, BAFTA/LA and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences celebrate the 2006-2007 nominees from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
 
Proceeds will benefit both organizations’ philanthropic divisions.
 
We are pleased to be able to allocate a portion of tickets to BAFTA/LA Members. Tickets will be limited and therefore allocated via a raffle system. Voting Members have been sent full details via e-mail.

BAFTA/LA presents a special evening dedicated to the reasons, rewards and returns of producing short films.

BAFTA/LA Members James Hacking, J. Alan Davis, Sandro Monetti, Phil Lott & Jen McGowan will present three terrific films, and then answer your questions to explain why filmmakers still pull out all the stops to produce them.

   Seminar : You've Made Your Movie, Now What? Part Two.


BAFTA/LA is pleased to announce the second seminar in our series for independent filmmakers. This panel discussion will focus on International Distribution.
 
The seminar will explore options and strategies for sales and distribution of completed feature films in the market outside of the United States.
