   2005 BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards

BAFTA/LA will honor Tom Cruise with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, and present Dame Elizabeth Taylor, DBE with the Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in International Entertainment.
Mike Newell will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in Directing and BAFTA founder Ronald Neame, CBE will be presented with the Cunard Britannia Award for Lifetime Contributions to International Film.

Craig Ferguson will be our MC and a glittering array of high-profile celebrities will be on hand to present our honorees with their awards.

   Seminar : Brave New Digital World - Movies in the Year 2010

The Education and Outreach Committee presents this exciting seminar, examining the future that awaits us all, both creators and audience, in the burgeoning world of digital design and effects.

Co-chair of the DGA Visual Effects/Digital Technologies Committee

As a member of the Producers Guild, Brian has worked on an array of films some of which include: Woody Allen's on "Play it Again Sam" and "Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex But Were Afraid to Ask", the remake of "King Kong", and "The Betsy", "Field of Dreams", "Flight of the Intruder" and "American Me". TV projects include: TV Movie "Second Serve" and "Max Headroom". Other films include: "The Fugitive", "Demolition Man", "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory", "The Net" and many more. Brian continues to develop his own scripts for screen and consults on various motion pictures for production.
Andrew Millstein
Senior Vice President at Walt Disney Feature Animation

Andrew Millstein oversees the start-up of the newest Disney animation studio- creating and producing theatrical sequels to the successful films produced and distributed by the Disney/Pixar partnership. In his previous role, Andrew oversaw all aspects of operations and production on "Brother Bear". Before that, he was General Manager of Dream Quest Images and The Secret Lab, Walt Disney Feature Animation’s digital division that produced the digital effects in live action films, including "101 Dalmatians", "Reign of Fire", "Snow Dogs", "Bubble Boy", "Kangaroo Jack", among others.
Debbie Denise
Executive Vice President, Production Infrastructure, and Executive Producer - Sony Pictures Imageworks

Ms. Denise is currently executive producer on “The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio," starring Julianne Moore, and “Monster House". She most recently completed production on the CG feature “The Polar Express," working with senior visual effects supervisors Ken Ralston and Jerome Chen, and director Robert Zemeckis. Ms. Denise has worked as visual effects producer on “50 First Dates," “Seabiscuit," “Anger Management," “Matchstick Men," “Hollywood Homicide," and “Peter Pan." Ms. Denise's other credits include “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," “Cast Away," “What Lies Beneath," “Michael," “The Postman," “Snow Falling on Cedars," Academy Award® nominated “Stuart Little" and “America's Sweethearts." Ms. Denise holds a BFA in Broadcasting from the University of Cincinnati.
Academy Awards include: “Death Becomes Her" (1992 Academy Award®, Best Visual Effects) and “Forrest Gump" (1994 Academy Award, Best Visual Effects)
Robert Legato
Visual Effects Supervisor/2nd Unit Director

Academy Award® winner Rob Legato earned two Emmy Awards for Visual Effects on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine". He went on to become Visual Effects supervisor, second unit director and effects director of photography on "Interview with the Vampire". This led to his next feature "Apollo 13" where Legato served as the film's visual effects supervisor which earned his first Academy Award® nomination and won the British Academy Award for his effects work in “Apollo 13." His next feature “Titanic," earned Mr. Legato his first Academy Award®. Mr. Legato then went onto to serve as visual effects supervisor on “What Lies Beneath" and “Cast Away." Legato was senior visual effects supervisor on “Bad Boys II," which was nominated for a VES Award (Visual Effects Society) for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Motion Picture, and worked on the international phenomenon “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". He has recently completed work as the second unit director and visual effects supervisor on Martin Scorsese's “The Aviator,". The Aviator garnered three VES awards and the International Press Academy’s Satellite award for best visual effects. Rob is currently working on Martin Scorsese’s next feature “The Departed” and starting pre-visualization on James Cameron’s next untitled feature production. Legato has most recently signed on as a director for the leading commercial production company Untitled Films.
