BAFTA Los Angeles is pleased to announce our Annual General Meeting.

The Annual General Meeting is an important evening, and we invite you to join members of the 2016 Board of Directors and Executive Staff to hear our plans for the year.

As always, we also hope to use the meeting to answer as many of our Membersí questions as possible. To facilitate this, and to accommodate those who may not be able to attend in person we invite you to contact us in advance with any questions you have. By doing so, we can address them during the meeting itself, and/or contact members personally with our response. We will also be publishing a Frequently Asked Questions document in advance.

   Behind Closed Doors with James L. Brooks

Presented as part of our commitment to education in our profession, join three-time Academy Award winner and twenty-time Emmy Award winner, James L. Brooks for a unique evening of discussion.

An icon of film and television, Brooks began his television career as a writer who later produced television hits such as Taxi, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda, Lou Grant, The Tracy Ullman Show, and The Simpsons.

Brooks co-wrote, produced, and directed Terms of Endearment for which he earned three Oscars. He also wrote, produced and directed As Good As It Gets, which was nominated for seven Oscars including Best Picture and won both Nicholson and Hunt Oscars for their performances. Through his company Gracie Films, Brooks has also produced such notable films as Wes Anderson's Bottle Rocket and Cameron Crowe's Say Anything and Jerry Maguire.

Brooks is currently producing the film Besties, starring Hailee Seinfeld, Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick.
