The tradition of celebrating and honoring the Emmy nominees and talent from the UK and the Commonwealth will continue with the TV Tea on Saturday, September 22, 2012.
The TV Tea will include a silent auction to raise funds and awareness of our expanding Outreach and Philanthropic programs including our Heritage Archive and Inner City Cinema programs. The event is an invite-only party. However, tickets will be available to Members via a lottery system at the cost of $100 per ticket. Tickets are limited to two per Member. Lottery details will be sent to BAFTA Los Angeles Members via Email. Presenting Sponsor: BBC America

Behind Closed Doors with Ricky Gervais |
BAFTA Los Angeles welcomes Ricky Gervais to our popular Behind Closed Doors series. Ricky will join us to present a sneak preview of his new television series 'Derek', and join us for a post-screening discussion on his extensive catalogue of work and the development of his new television series. Seminar: Making Music In Time - Composing for Television Now! |
The BAFTA Los Angeles series of Salons and Seminars welcome industry leaders, experts and pioneers to share information, discuss their craft and debate topics of importance to the industry. Guest Composers will be: Alex Wurman - NEWSROOM, TEMPLE GRANDIN, (Emmy Award winner) David Buckley - THE GOOD WIFE, THE TOWN (film) IZler - REVENGE, SHAMELESS, OFF SEASON (BAFTA Award nominee) The discussion will be moderated by Doreen Ringer Ross (Vice President of Film & Television Relations, BMI). These talented colleagues will present clips from their shows, reveal details of their creative process and participate in a candid, wide-ranging discussion of the role of the composer in the pressure-filled world of television production. We can count on a lively, informative evening: • The deadline is tomorrow! How scoring for TV is different from Film, and how to cross over. • How many players do you need? Salon: Staying The Course: The Actor's Journey In Television and Film. |
BAFTA Los Angeles will welcome actors MONICA POTTER (Leading Lady, Series Regular on PARENTHOOD, etc.) and JACK MCGEE (Character Actor, Series Regular on RESCUE ME, lead in THE FIGHTER, etc) to discuss their journeys in the profession. This session has been arranged with the participants in our Newcomers Program in mind, however we also invite our members to register for this event. Moderated by Mary Anne McGarry.

A salon discussion of the career of actor, producer, director Norman Lloyd. Attendance for the Salon will be limited to a maximum of 35 BAFTA Los Angeles Members. Therefore, please only make a reservation if you can guarantee you are able to attend. RSVP list will close for reservations and cancellations on Friday, June 29. Reservations for Guests are not permitted, but if space becomes available you will be notified and guest seats allocated on a first-come basis.
