   BAFTA/LA Salon: Your Creative Career Strategy

As part of the Academy’s Education and Outreach Program, BAFTA/LA is pleased to announce a Salon session. The session will focus on creative career development, and will be led by two highly successful Career and Executive Coaches, BAFTA/LA Member Marshal Backlar and David Brownstein.

   BAFTA/LA Newcomers Program Mixer

As part of BAFTA/LA's Newcomers Program, we invite all Members to a special mixer at the Red Rock bar to meet our current participants.
 
We encourage all Members to attend and welcome them to the Academy, especially those Members who may be able to mentor one or more of our Newcomers in their chosen field.

   BAFTA/LA British Comedy Festival Awards Dinner

The finale of the BAFTA/LA British Comedy Festival Presented by British Airways.
 
The evening include the presentation of BAFTA/LA's inaugural comedy awards.

Screening of Film Nominee MAGICIANS and an episode of Television Nominees GAVIN & STACEY and LITTLE BRITAIN.
 
The screening begins at 7.30pm at the Directors Guild of America Theater.
 
BAFTA/LA is pleased to invite our Industry colleagues and members of the public to join us at this celebration of British comedy. Therefore no RSVP is required, but seating will be on a strict first-come first-served basis.

   Meet The Board Clubhouse Evening

BAFTA/LA hosts the first Clubhouse Evening of 2008.
 

Mingle with other Members, and meet several of this year's Board of Directors; as well as a formal Q&A session moderated by the Chairman, Peter Morris, there will also be plenty of opportunity to speak one-on-one with Board members before and after.

   14th Annual BAFTA/LA Awards Season Tea Party

On Saturday January 12, 2008, BAFTA/LA will host the 14th Annual BAFTA/LA Awards Season Tea Party at The Beverly Hills Hotel from 2pm to 5pm.
 
The Awards Season Tea Party has long been an important and highly popular event, and is viewed as the kick-off to the Film Awards Season.
 
Due to the great demand for tickets, and the limited number of guests that can be accommodated at the hotel, BAFTA/LA will allocate tickets for Members via a lottery system.
 
Ticket prices for Members are $85/person, with a limit of two tickets per Member.
 
Please note that the lottery for tickets has now closed.

   Helen Keller Park Holiday Party

BAFTA/LA is privileged to celebrate the Holiday Season and New Year with a party for the families in the Helen Keller Park community, and by donations to local children's charities.
 
BAFTA/LA Members and friends are invited to attend the Helen Keller Park party on Saturday, December 15th from 1pm to 5pm. Santa will be there!
 
Members are invited to bring an unwrapped toy to the party. If you cannot attend the party but would still like to donate a toy, please bring your gift to the BAFTA/LA office at 8533 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood.

   Television Committee Evening - Pub Quiz

The BAFTA/LA Television Committee will be hosting a get-together for the Members of BAFTA/LA who primarily work in Television.
 
The Television side of BAFTA/LA has been much more active this year, but the Committee would love to hear what the Membership think could be done to increase the TV side of the Academy even more.
 
We'll have a holiday drink, discuss what we can do regarding television in BAFTA/LA, and for a bit of fun there will be a TV pub quiz!
