The TV Tea: Scones, Teas and Nominees The gardens of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza were awash with scones, teas, and nominees as BAFTA/LA held the every-popular Annual TV Tea Party. A staple fixture on the weekend of the Primetime Emmy Awards, Members and Guests joined an array of stars to celebrate the year’s achievements in Television.
British talents spotted in the gardens included Michael Sheen (The Special Relationship), Mick Jackson (Temple Grandin), Julia Ormond (Temple Grandin), Jonathan Pryce (Return to Cranford) along with Glen Close (Damages) and Rose Byrne (Damages). The year’s top TV programming was certainly well represented at the event; The Office’s Kate Flannery, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner and Creed Bratton rubbed shoulders with Mad Men’s Rich Sommer, Bryan Batt, Alison Brie and Kiernan Shipka. Other familiar faces included Evan Handler and Madeline Zima (Weeds), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), Cherry Jones and Shohreh Aghdashloo (24), Eva La Rue (CSI: Miami), Jessica Lowndes (90210), Wendie Malick (Hot in Cleveland) and Henry Ian Cusick (Lost). We were thrilled to see so many guests supporting our ever-popular Silent Auction. Items such as airline tickets on British Airways and American Airlines, Citation Air private jet travel time, dinners at some of L.A.’s top restaurants, finale tickets and signed scripts were all available to bid on and proceeds raised will support our important outreach programs including our Heritage Archive, Scholarships, and Inner City Cinema programs. BAFTA/LA congratulates all the Emmy nominees and winners and is especially proud of the accomplishments of the UK winners.
