BAFTA Awards News  Orange British Academy Film Awards: BRUNCH BAFTA/LA will host the ever-popular annual Awards Brunch on Sunday, February 21, 2010, providing our Members and Guests with the opportunity view the exclusive West Coast Broadcast of the Orange British Academy Film Awards. Members are invited to join us for a Buffet Brunch, followed by the satellite broadcast of the Awards from London. The event is a wonderful chance to celebrate the year’s nominees and winners, and a great opportunity for us to gather at what is always an enjoyable occasion. Members are invited to purchase up to four tickets at the special Membership rate of $65 each. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis so please book your tickets early. Voting is an important and compulsory responsibility of all BAFTA/LA Voting Members. This ensures that the voting procedure is unquestionably fair and that the results truly reflect the opinions of all Film Voting Members of the Academy. Please remember that you must either vote or register that you wish to abstain at each of the three stages of voting. Any Voting Member who fails to do so will lose all film voting privileges for the following year. Orange Rising Star Award 2010 The Nominees for the Orange Rising Star Award 2010 have been announced. The award recognizes five international actors and actresses whose talent has inspired popular acclaim from the British public. Nominations are Jesse Eisenberg, Nicholas Hoult, Carey Mulligan, Tahar Rahim and Kristen Stewart. Orange’s accolade for up and coming talent is the only award at the Orange British Academy Film Awards to be voted for by the public and the winner will be announced at the Orange British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, February 21, 2010.
 British Academy Film Awards: Film Not In The English Language Nominations The Nominations for the Orange British Academy Film Awards Film Not In the English Language category have been announced. The nominations are: Broken Embraces Coco Before Chanel Let the Right One In A Prophet The White Ribbon These Nominees were selected by the Film Not in the English Language Chapter. All eligible Film Voting Members will vote for the winner of this category during the third round of voting. BAFTA/LA is currently working to schedule screenings in Los Angeles for our Members’ voting consideration. Details will be available in our Screenings and Events section.
