BAFTA Awards News  Stephen Fry returning as host for the BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards We are delighted to announce that Stephen Fry will return as our Master Of Ceremonies for the 2010 BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards this November, returning to host the gala event for the second consecutive year. The Awards will be held on November 4, 2010 in Los Angeles. As previously reported, the first two honorees announced are Christopher Nolan and Michael Sheen. We look forward to joining our Members in celebration of Christopher and Michael’s achievements. Ticketing details will be available shortly.
BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards : Honoree Announcement We are thrilled to announce that Christopher Nolan and Michael Sheen will be honored at the 2010 BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards this coming November. Christopher Nolan will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in Directing. Michael Sheen will be honored with the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year. “We could not be more delighted about our first honorees of this year’s Britannia Awards, representing two outstanding British talents” says BAFTA/LA Chairman Nigel Lythgoe. “Chris Nolan is a visionary filmmaker who continually raises the bar with each movie he makes, and Michael Sheen is an actor of immense depth who seamlessly tackles drama and comedic roles alike.” The Awards will be held on November 4, 2010 in Los Angeles.  Schedule for Film Awards in 2011 Announced The Nominations for the Orange British Academy Film Awards will be announced on January 18, 2011 with the winners announced at the Ceremony on February 13, 2011 at the Royal Opera House in London.
BAFTA/LA Screener Code of Conduct To facilitate an informed voting decision for the British Academy Film Awards, Studios and Distributors are permitted to distribute copies of eligible films to Voting Members. BAFTA/LA fully supports all efforts to curb film piracy. Therefore, in order to receive Screeners, Members are required to confirm acceptance of our Screener Agreement. Acceptance is requested upon renewal or acceptance of Membership to BAFTA/LA. BAFTA SCREENER AGREEMENT FOR VOTING MEMBERS. The Member confirms that he/she requests to receive materials (including films distributed on DVD or by any other electronically distributed format) to assist in the voting process for the Orange British Academy Film Awards. In consideration for materials (including DVD screeners) being sent, Member acknowledges and confirms that: (a) any screeners sent are for promotional commercial purposes only; specifically for the Member’s personal viewing for consideration for the Orange British Academy Film Awards. (b) any screener sent to the Member remains the property of the distributor which has provided it who may request its return (at their cost) after the Orange British Academy Film Awards for which the material was provided. (c) if distributors have not requested their return, the Member will destroy (or safely dispose of) all unwanted screeners after such date (d) Member will: - not distribute, loan, sell or give the screener to anyone - not reproduce the screener by any means. - report any theft or loss of screeners immediately to the Academy.
