12th Annual Britannia Announced

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, SEPTEMBER, 2003 - On Saturday evening, November 8, 2003 BAFTA/LA hosted the 12th Britannia Awards at the Century Plaza Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles.

The Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film was presented to Hugh Grant. Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation of America, was presented the Britannia Award for Contributions to Worldwide Entertainment, Peter Weir received the 1st John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Artistic Achievement, and Angela Lansbury received the Britannia Award for Lifetime Achievement in Television and Film Award.

BAFTA/LA Chairman Gary Dartnall stated: "We are full of pride to be presenting our hallmark of respect upon our 2003 honorees, who stand among the very pinnacle of their professions. This promises to be one of the grandest evenings in our many years of the Britannia Awards.

Actor and Director Alan Cumming hosted the evening. Presenters included Billy Connolly, Russell Crowe, Robin Williams, Robert Wagner and Sandra Bullock, with musical performances by Grammy Award winning jazz artist Boney James, and Tony-nominated singer Valerie Pettiford.
